About this activity

Sachsenhausen was the first purpose-built concentration camp, created as a centre of terror, persecution, and systematic brutality. Initially, it imprisoned those the Nazi regime considered racially, socially, or politically undesirable.

Travel through the town of Oranienburg and learn how the local community was connected to the camp. Your expert, licensed guide will lead you through key locations including the punishment cells, infirmary, barracks, gas chamber, and crematoria, while sharing powerful stories of resilience and courage among prisoners.

The tour also visits the Inspectorate of Concentration Camps, the administrative centre that controlled the Nazi camp system across Europe.

This is a fully guided and stress-free experience. Our guides will welcome and assist you at the meeting point in Berlin, accompany you throughout the day, and bring you comfortably back to the city centre at the conclusion of the tour.

A €3 per person donation supports the Sachsenhausen Memorial.
