About this activity

This cycling tour will lead you out of the city heading south into the enormous and beautiful sugar cane fields. You will see entire villages constructed for plantation workers by TPC, The Tanzanian Plantation Company. From lush sugarcane you will begin to move deep into the rural and agrarian life of the local people. Keep a lookout for outstanding views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mawenzi in the distance as you ride alongside fields of corn, wheat, turnips, onions, and bananas. Quaint and tiny villages will appear along the route, as well as herds of cows, goat, and sheep. As you near the hotsprings you will spot an oasis of trees, sheltering the refreshing and vibrant waters of Chemka Hotsprings.

Meeting and pickup

  • Our shop is located near the highway leading to Arusha. It is nearby the "Highway Supermarket". When you face the supermarket, go right and continue walking on a dirt road for a few meters. You will see our shop on your left.
