About this activity

Embark on a spectacular journey at Hobart's Mt Wellington, one of Tasmania's tallest mountains. This small-group guided bike tour takes you on a meandering journey from the summit (sub alpine), then gently descends through lush temperate rainforest, finishing in the dryer forest on the edge of the city. On the way, take in magnificent eucalyptus trees, gigantic ferns, a waterfall, curious wildlife, and historic landmarks. As you ride, your guide will fill you in on the area's history and natural environment.

  • ✕Dress according to the weather forecast. The weather on the mountain can change quickly. Recommend bring a small back pack with a spray jacket and extra layer of warm clothing.

Meeting and pickup

  • Arrive at least 30-minutes before the tour departs. All-day free parking is on nearby Washington St and Wentworth St. Our shop is a 25-min walk / 6-min taxi from the city/waterfront. Next door to our shop is the awesome Ginger Brown Cafe, and a general food store.

  • Our bikes are suitable for riders up to 120kg
  • Riders should be comfortable on a bike with good basic bike handling skills
