Explore the Rocca Paolina, an imposing fortress built by Pope Paul III on the houses of the Baglioni family to punish them for a rebellion: you will discover an entire medieval district englobed in the castle, and even an ancient Etruscan gate, Porta Marzia! Here, in an incredible journey back in time, you will admire the Etruscan Perugia and its mighty walls and gates, that still bears the ancient Roman name of the city: Augusta Perusia!
Our passionate and knowleadgeable guide will then lead you along Corso Vannucci, the main street of Perugia, named after its most notorious citizen, the painter known as Perugino, on a walk to discover the most fascinating monuments of the medieval and Renaissance city.
Enjoy the wonderful square known as Piazza IV Novembre, dominated by the majestic Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the splendid medieval palace known as Palazzo dei Priori, in Gothic style. In the center of the square you will admire the Fontana Maggiore, a great medieval fountain symbol of Perugia, discovering the hidden secrets and details of this amazing masterpiece of medieval sculpture!
