About this activity

Venture 9 meters beneath Rome's surface to discover its secrets on a guided tour. Learn the city's history while marveling at Ancient Roman relics on a 45-minute guided tour through its underground passages. Roam through the three sections of the antiquarian and learn why this archaeological area is called the "City of Water."

Start making a wish at the iconic Trevi Fountain, the largest Baroque fountain in the city. Next, venture underground to marvel at ruins that date all the way back to Ancient Rome. This history comes to life with the help of a professional guide, who will explain the story behind the Vicus Caprarius archaeological area.

Learn about the findings discovered during excavation, including precious polychrome marble coverings, the famous head of Alessandro Helios, a treasure trove of 800 coins, and the spatheia, special African amphorae for transporting oil.
