About this activity

Travel through the Bavarian Alps past scenic Lake Chiemsee on your way to Salzburg. Upon arrival, receive a city map from your guide highlighting top sights, photo spots, and charming narrow streets to help you explore independently. Visit locations featured in the classic movie The Sound of Music, including Mirabell Palace. Discover Mozart's birthplace on famous Getreidegasse, and admire Hohensalzburg Fortress—the landmark overlooking the city and the largest preserved fortress in Central Europe. During the summer season (April–October), take an optional boat ride across Lake Wolfgang to St. Gilgen. On the return journey to Munich, pass Lake Mondsee, a location seen in the film The Trapp Family. From November 19th–December 30th, experience the festive Christmas market at Lake Wolfgang.

Meeting and pickup

  • The Meetingpoint is Sonnenstraße 3 - in front of Restaurant Shanghai. Take Exit "C" or Exit "D" when arriving with U4/U5 or the local train. Please be at the departure point 20 minutes prior departure.
