About this activity

Did you know the Smurfs were never supposed to exist? They began as throwaway side characters, but readers loved them so much that their creator gave in and made them stars. This self-guided audio walking tour tells you such anecdotes and traces how one city shaped an entire art form. Visit 13 hand-picked comic book murals across the Brussels city center in about 2 hours. Your app-based guide leads you through the worlds of Tintin, Asterix, Lucky Luke, and lesser-known gems like Yoko Tsuno and Thorgal, so you won't just see the murals, you'll hear about the characters in them, the inspirations behind them, and what sets them apart.

Highlights:

- Follow a curated route of 13 comic book murals through central Brussels

- Go at your own pace, pausing for photos, coffee, or spontaneous detours

- Test yourself with an optional interactive quiz along the way
